Mary Kay Klein, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), DACVR (Radiation Oncology)





Dr. Klein completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona in 1979. She then traveled to Colorado State
University to attend veterinary school and graduated with honors in 1983. After returning home to Arizona for 2 years and
working at the University of Arizona Animal Cancer Therapy Study, Dr. Klein returned to Colorado State University for a
three-year oncology residency and became board-certified in medical oncology in 1990. She became board-certified in
radiation oncology in 1996. Dr. Klein continues her research and interests as a clinical lecturer at the University of Arizona
Cancer Center. Author of numerous articles and textbook chapters, Dr. Klein served as president of the Veterinary Cancer
Society in 2000 and again in 2001.

Kate Vickery, VMD, MS, DACVIM (Oncology)





Dr. Kate Vickery graduated summa cum laude from King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, PA) with a Bachelors of Science degree in
Biology and Molecular Genetics in 1998. In 2004, Dr Vickery received her VMD degree with honors from the University of
Pennsylvania. After graduation, she went on to complete a one-year rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship
at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey. After her internship she completed a three-year combined residency and
master’s degree in medical oncology at Colorado State University, Animal Cancer Center. She became board-certified in
medical oncology with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2008.
