SAGE Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care is the leading veterinary specialist practice in the San Francisco Bay Area - and has been since 1992. SAGE has four Northern California locations -- Campbell, Concord, Dublin and San Mateo. The SAGE clinical team includes over 60 highly trained veterinarians, including those board certified in medical and radiation oncology, as well as surgery, internal medicine, neurology/neurosurgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. Board Certified Veterinary Oncologists Martin Crawford-Jakubiak, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology and Internal Medicine) Dr.Crawford-Jakubiak (or Dr. J as he is warmly referred to by his clients) attended the University of Rochester where he earned a BS in Microbiology, and received his MLAS in Laboratory Animal Science from Drexel University. He earned his DVM from the Atlantic Veterinary College of the University of Prince Edward Island (2002). He completed his small animal internship, internal medicine and oncology residencies at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists. Dr. J earned his board certification in internal medicine in 2006 and oncology in 2007. Martin particularly enjoys providing individualized Internal Medicine and Oncology care to the highly complex veterinary patient...in other words he loves cracking the toughest cases, with his trademark compassion and care. Among other cancer treatment options, Dr. Crawford-Jakubiak performs electrochemotherapy (ECT). Micki McCabe, DVM, DACVIM, CVA (Acupuncture) Dr. McCabe graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Zoology and French minor in 1986 and her DVM in 1991. She completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in NYC, and her Internal Medicine residency back at UC Davis. Dr. McCabe became a board certified internist in 1996 and received her CVA from the Chi Institute in 2008. Dr. McCabe is passionate about integrating a blend of Eastern and Western medicine in her treatment of each patient. She has many years of experience treating patients with a western approach to internal medicine and over the past several years, has experienced firsthand how the blend of Eastern and Western medicine can provide hope as well as positive results to so many patients. Dr. McCabe also spearheads SAGE’s commitment to sustainability and SAGE is currently the only certified "green" veterinary practice in Contra Costa County. When not practicing medicine, Micki enjoys horseback riding, telemark skiing, hiking, traveling and yoga. Favorite pose? Downward Facing Dog, of course! She is the proud mom of two teenage girls, and is married to Dr. Chuck Walls, an immensely talented SAGE veterinary surgeon and chef! Her family shares a home with two pugs, one Chihuahua, two cats, an aquarium full of fish and a horse named Flicka. Dr McCabe has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. |
