| Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologists: Sue Downing, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) A graduate of the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Downing then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Arizona. After completing a three-year residency in comparative oncology at Purdue University, she successfully completed the requirements for certification to become a Diplomate (Board Certified Oncologist) of the ACVIM in the specialty of oncology. Following certification, she worked for a local veterinary oncology group, serving as Los Angeles Medical Director, before joining VCA ASEC. Dr. Downing is a charter member of the ACVIM Foundation and has received recognition on the Veterinary Honor Role by the Morris Animal Foundation. She also serves as a Commissioner at the Los Angeles Zoo and volunteers regularly with Catnippers to sterilize feral cats. . |
