| Veterinary Oncologist: Erin Arnold, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) Dr Erin Arnold received a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology in 2002 from Colorado State University. She received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State in 2007, and completed a one year rotating internship at Purdue University in small animal medicine and surgery. She then continued on at Purdue University to complete her oncology residency in 2011. While at Purdue, she has researched the patterns of metastasis and insulin – like growth factor expression as well as completed a clinical trial for treatment of dogs with bladder cancer. She has published an article on histiocytic sarcoma in the JAVMA. Her interests in the field of oncology include the treatment of round cell and metastatic cancers, molecular targeted therapies, and supportive care for the cancer patient including nutrition and the treatment of cancer related pain. Dr Arnold strives to provide high quality medical care for animals and high quality emotional care for people. Her outlook on the treatment of cancer is that there is often not a right or wrong thing to do, but what is best for your family and what feels right in your heart. |
